Triangle of Fire

Within the Puget Sound there is an area known as the Triangle of Fire. It's a combination of three forts build in the 1890's to protect the Sound. The three forts, Fort Flagler, Fort Worden, and Fort Casey the government was thinking they would be able to stop any form of marine attack. Are all present in some form today which makes them a great spot to stop and explore.

A few years after the Fort was finished it was outdated and almost worthless because of the invention of the airplane. By 1925 the Fort was made inactive and the dismantling begun. All of the guns were removed but the Fort remained and was turned into a state park.

Today Fort Casey is a shell of what it used to be but still good for exploring and some great views. It's completely open for exploring and only a few big steel doors and rusted or welded shut. A word of warning, it can get dark when exploring so bring a flash light and look out for kids jumping out from around corners.
